Over this past year, a subcommittee of the PITA Executive Committee has been conducting a review of the PITA bylaws.  The initial purpose and (we hope) the end result, was to create a document that is easier to reference.  As you will see, we also removed a few sections as they were either obsolete or just didn’t make sense. The two attached documents are a clean copy of the proposed revised bylaws and a document that shows the changes to the existing bylaws.

If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me, Betty Phipps, or Bob Robertson.  We will be discussing and voting on these changes at the PITA General Meeting, Friday, July 30, 2021 at 8:00 a.m.  Please contact your State or Provincial secretary if you are interested in serving as a delegate at that meeting.

The Pacific International Trapshooting Association would like to congratulate Scott Grange, Public Relations and Shoot Promo Manager at Browning, on a great career and offer our wishes for a fantastic retirement.

Scott was one of the first industry representatives to take an interest in the PITA and his support has helped our association to grow and offer bigger and better trophy packages. Scott also played an instrumental part in the PITA offering 20 gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore trapshooting.

The PITA is very thankful for our relationship with Scott Grange and we wish him the best in his retirement.

The Covid-19 restrictions in BC were eased today so VGC will be able to host our first shoot of the year on June 4th-6th. Yay!!! The number of participants is limited to 50 and there are still some geographical travel restrictions so we’ve created a page where shooters can pre-register to save their spot: https://www.vancouvergunclub.ca/event-4334354

North Peace in Fort St. John will be holding their shoot May 29-30 with the same 50 person limit.  Their shoot is limited to local shooters only due to the travel restrictions still in play.

The first month of the Summer Multiplex is complete.  Scores are posted on the results page – they are final.  Some of the highlights:

  • High Over All – John Backen (Roseburg) – 145/150
  • Earned Yardage – Andy Damewood (Roseburg) – 49/50 for 1/2 yard
  • 26 clubs
  • 303 shooters
  • 39,200 targets

The Pacific International Trapshooting Association is a 90-year-old association whose purpose is to serve its members and promote the sport of trapshooting. We are looking for an Administrative Assistant, with knowledge of trapshooting, to work with our Executive Secretary.  This is a part-time to full-time, work-from-home position performing a variety of tasks.

Please review the attached Job Description, and if you feel this is a position in which you would be interested, complete the application and submit it to:

The Executive Committee wishes to announce the BRB Voice Release Purchase Program which will provide new BRB Voice Calls to be used at the Grand Pacific.  We are offering 24-wired sets and 3-wireless sets.  The wired sets will be used on the tournament traps, and the wireless sets will be used only on the practice traps.

Wired-sets are being offered for $990 per set (shipping fee included). Wireless sets are being offered for $1630 (shipping fee included). These prices are based on the manufacturer’s 2020 price per set.  If a club were to purchase a set from the manufacturer, based on 2020 manufacturer’s price, a wired-set would be $1175 with shipping, and a wireless-set would be $1875 with shipping.

The BRB Purchase Program offers a great deal with significant savings to clubs purchasing one or more sets.

To place your order or if you have questions, please contact Mike Riggs at riggsconstinc@gmail.com.

Payment will be required to confirm order.

Multiplex results are posted for April on the RESULTS page and are final.  Thank you shooters for your participation – another great turnout by all.  This ends the ‘Winter Season’ – Summer Season runs May, June, July & August.

High handicap score  for April was 49/50 so if you were one of the 3 shooting a 49 you earned 1/2 yard – congratulations.
