Posted March 20:  The PITA Board of Directors met on Wednesday night to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on our shooting season and the Grand Pacific in particular. The health and safety of our membership is our No. 1 priority and with that in mind, we have made the following decisions regarding the 2020 Grand Pacific:
  1. Our program will be published online only.  In the event that the Grand Pacific is canceled, we won’t have spent those funds printing a program that became obsolete.
  2. We have set May 1, 2020, as the “drop-dead” date for deciding whether we will hold the Grand Pacific this year.
The decision of whether to hold state or provincial championships will be left to state and provincial associations and local club managers.  With changes and new restrictions regarding COVID-19 taking place every day, we are going to have to constantly review and adapt.  Again, I advise that you follow the direction of your state/provincial and local government. We will update you as changes take place.  Please follow this website and our Facebook page for more information regarding shoot cancellations.
Please direct any questions or comments directly to me at this email address or 503-931-4211.

Posted March 17:  As information continues to become available regarding the increasing spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to provide you with additional guidance on P.I.T.A.-sanctioned events.

We encourage our member clubs to follow the directions of their state and provincial governments regarding large gatherings.  The U.S. Centers for Disease Control is currently recommending that gatherings of 50 or more people, in the next 8 weeks, be canceled or postponed. The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends avoiding mass gatherings and crowded areas.

If your club decides that your shoot will be canceled or postponed, please let us know and we will post this information as soon as possible on our website and our Facebook page.

We encourage you to stay informed and consult the websites linked above for more information.

Jennifer Carter,  P.I.T.A. President
